Understanding Inflammation:
The bodies immune response to interior discomfort or irregularity. It's a basic physiological reaction; our immune system orchestrates inflammation by activating immune cells when it recognizes any sort of internal irregularity to protect the body from further damage. The immune cels will assist in removing the damaged tissue and cells from the body preparing for a crucial healing process.
Then Why Is Inflammation Categorized As Harmful?
Chronic Inflammation has the potential of leading to a more severe medical stance, such a diabetes, neurological diseases, cancers and autoimmune disorders and others.
Inflammation happens to protect the body from injury by releasing chemicals from the white blood cells to the blood or tissue. White blood cells are the body's 'good' cells. This raises blood flow to the area, which can cause warmth, redness, and inflammation. Some of these chemicals can cause fluid to leak into your tissue, which results in swelling and more inflammation.
While inflammation is a natural healing reaction by the body, it is essential to combat the inflammation before it causes har.
Think of it as medication: the proper amount can help the wound to heal, but too much medication can cause harm.
Our body naturally produces white blood cells, which are of course necessary for survival and body function. However, an increase in white blood cell count can be harmful to body.
Natural Remedies are the number one cure for fighting and avoiding inflammation. There are numerous whole foods and super foods that contain anti-inflammatory properties. Our two favorites are Matcha and Cinnamon!
Matcha and Cinnamon's Anti-Inflammatory Properties and Power
Matcha comes from the Camellia Sinensis Plant which produces Green Tea Leaves which then get blended into Matcha Powder. EGCG(epigallocatechin gallate) and L-theanine are two bioactive substances that contribute to taming inflammation. The key protein in Matcha that helps to control inflammation are Cytokines. Cytokines are small proteins that signal the growth of the immune and inflammation cells.
Matcha also contains the amino-acid, L-theanine whcih calms the central nervous system and reduces the generation of inflammatory mediators like C-reactive protein(CPR) which is commonly found in diferent foods.
Cinnamon: Cinnamon is a spice that comes from the bark of Cinnamomum trees. Cinnamaldehyde, Cinnamic acid, and Cinnamate are chemicals found in cinnamon that increase its' special potent flavor and smell, as well as carry many anti-inflammatory properties.
